The reason why I am interested in Manchester Metropolitan University is because of the breadth of the programme you provide. As well as this, after viewing images from the photography department at MMU, I am extremely inspired by the level of creativity, and would love to have the opportunity to explore photography in the way that your past students have. I have not yet decided what particular route in photography I want to take, and therefore intend to keep my options open.

I like to keep my photography as natural as possible, taking my photographs as close to perfection as I can, so I therefore don't need to spend too much time editing them in front of a computer screen. My main interests are definitely portrait and landscape photography. I get pleasure out of capturing expression and really focusing on showing an individual's personality, as well as creating the appropriate lighting to compliment different moods. I have always been an avid follower of fashion, and like to capture different styles within my photographs. My fascination for landscape photography developed whilst I was on holiday in Scotland, where I was inspired by the beautiful and remote surroundings, taking photographs of dramatic mountainous landscapes and really exploring natural lighting. It has since developed on subsequent travels around the world, including Canada and South Africa.

Travelling around the world has always been my aspiration in life, and it is a great ambition of mine to take photographs for the National Geographic, or to work behind programmes such as Planet Earth. Hopefully in the future, I will create pieces which could change people's views on a variety of issues, contributing to making our society a better place to live in.
